ARROWHEAD SUBSIDIARY UNIDYM SIGNS JOINT DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT FOR TOUCH PANELS IN VIDEO GAME MACHINES

Pasadena, CA, April 24, 2007

Arrowhead Research Corporation (NASDAQ: ARWR) announced today that its majority-owned subsidiary, Unidym, Inc., has signed a joint development agreement with Touch Panel Laboratories, a manufacturer of touch panels in Japan. The joint development effort will focus on using Unidym's proprietary transparent electrodes to fabricate touch screens for the multi-billion dollar video game industry.

"The use of touch panels in game machines has been limited by the brittleness of indium tin oxide, the transparent electrode currently used in touch screens," explained Yuji Mitani, President of Touch Panel Labs. "Because Unidym's transparent electrodes do not experience cracking after repeated touching, they could rapidly expand the market for touch panels in the game industry."

"Unidym's product could enable video game manufacturers, such as Nintendo, to widely adopt a touch panel solution," stated R. Bruce Stewart, Chairman and CEO of Arrowhead.
