Company Overview:
Unidym’s focus is commercializing carbon nanotubes for applications in the electronics industry. Our product is a transparent, conductive film of carbon nanotubes to improve the performance in applications ranging from touch screens to LCD displays, and solar devices. We are currently providing prototype films to potential customers and engaged in Joint Development Programs with major display manufacturers. In addition, we are developing thin-film transistors based on carbon nanotubes and polymer films to address the printable electronics opportunity. Our company has foundational intellectual property in both product areas that we are pursuing, as well as a broad portfolio of patents covering nanotubes and their applications. We are located in Sunnyvale, CA.

Display Applications Senior Engineer, Sunnyvale, CA

Job Description:

This role will be instrumental in driving Unidym’s efforts in Carbon Nanotube transparent electrodes integration for displays. Expectations and deliverables are focused on:

  • Thin Film CNT Coating & Process development for Electrophoretic, Liquid Crystal Display, OLED manufacturing Processes.
  • Transparent Electrode and Pixel Electrode integration into device architectures.
  • Characterization of thin films and devices.
Requirements:
  • MS/PhD in chemical engineering, materials engineering or relevant, extensive industrial experience in thin film/display device technologies and commercialization experience in electronics industry.
  • Experience with high volume chemical and thin film processes in a manufacturing environment; 3 - 8 years industry experience in chemical process development.
  • The successful candidate will be able to effectively work in a multidisciplinary environment and interact with other units of the company.
  • Direct experience with processing of carbon nanotubes is highly preferred, but not necessary.
  • Experience using DOE, SPC, 6-six sigma and other problem solving approaches are desirable.
  • Experience leading small development teams and strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
