ADVISORY BOARD
Professor P. M. AjayanProfessor Pulickel Ajayan is Benjamin M. and Mary Greenwood Anderson Professor in Engineering and Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Rice University where he directs a multi-disciplinary team effort with the goal of developing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as functional materials. He has worked in the field from its onset and his recent contributions include tunable-pore CNT membrane filters, chip cooling with integrated CNT architectures, CNT based Gecko- tape, controlled fabrication of CNT architectures, and CNT-polymer composites. He was awarded the distinction of AAAS Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2007. Election as a fellow is an honor bestowed upon AAAS members by their peers, selected "for sustained and seminal contributions to the material sciences and applications of carbon nanotubes." He is also the winner of the MRS Medal in 2006 for his work in carbon nanotube science. Click here to go to Professor P. M. Ajayan's Publications. Professor Jin JangProfessor Jang of Kyung Hee University, Korea, is a leader in the field of display development. Among other achievements, he has developed active matrix displays on plastic substrates, and is also involved in developing low-temperature nanotube deposition processes for display applications. He is the author or co-author of over 500 technical publications. Professor Jang is the director of the TFT-LCD Research Center and Advanced Display Research Center at Kyung Hee University. His research group has been working at the forefront of CNT synthesis and chemical functionalization, and has made significant contributions to the synthesis of various nanotube forms using chemical vapor deposition methods. He has over 70 papers published in nanotechnology and carbon nanotubes. Click here to go to Professor Jie Liu's group Publications. Professor Mike McGeheeProfessor McGehee of Stanford University is an internationally recognized expert on new materials for energy-saving applications. His current focus is on new generation solar cells. This year Professor McGehee has been selected as the Young Investigator of the Year by the Materials Research Society for work on printable solar cells (2007).
